Stay the course.

If you think that salvation and redemption are the same thing, you will think the Cross is the most important event in history and you will miss the whole point of it.

The Cross was not an end in itself, it was the portal to sanctification which, if pursued and persevered with, leads to salvation. Salvation is for those who stay the course.

Stay the course of sanctification. It requires fire to burn off the dross of sin, but the furnace is controlled by the consummate craftsman. He knows the perfect temperature, the perfect timing. He will never leave you in the fires of affliction, to go for coffee, to return to destroyed gold. He is watchful, attentive, only allowing the metal to be purified not destroyed. Hold fast the course, do not despise the heat. You will emerge as pure and then be able to be set aside for the use of God alone; an instrument of worship in His holy temple.

Are you the menorah, the altar of incense, the table of shewbread?
Into what are you allowing the Master craftsman to mould you?
Will you stay in the fire until you are pure enough for his use?
How is he shaping you for the glory of His holy name?
